EMMANUELLE BOISVERT

Sunday, May 16, 2010 7:30 pm

One of the most versatile artists on the concert stage today, Detroit Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Emmanuelle Boisvert is a Detroit treasure. At 25 years old she became the first woman to win the post of concertmaster of a major orchestra in the United States. Annual solo appearances with the DSO have led critics to exclaim. “Boisvert’s musicianship takes a back seat to no one.” * She brings with her three outstanding musicians: Karl Pituch, Principlal Horn of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; Hai Xin Wu, violinist and Assistant Cncertmaster of DSO; and pianist Zhihua Tang who accompanied Robert deMaine at Vivace in 2008. The concert will feature the Brahms Trio for Violin, Horn and Piano in E flat. This is Emmanuelle Boisvert’s 5th appearance at Vivace.
